You mean the same MG42s that went ddddddddd DEAD at husky?

Actually, I beg to differ on that. I admit that one of them had a silly little feed problem, which is now sorted and improved. Mine was perfect and I should have used it but didn't (luckily for the allies). I injured my back on the saturday and thus didn't play at all on the sunday. Not sure if I'll bother bringing it in December though. First off, it's a heavy bitch (almost real weight) and I'm not fully recovered from my injury yet, secondly, it's a woodland site, so not such good fields of fire. I might just be happy using the Tanaka.

The 42's go like the clappers, excellent rate of fire, great range and (for an MG) good accuracy and, above all, reliable. Don't forget that I didn't build them to be auto sniper weapons, nor as a rules bender. They have deliberately been built to be heavy and cumbersome. I could have copped out and dressed up an M249 or slapped a box mag and some hessian on an AK but chose to go to the expense and trouble of building accurate replicas of the real thing, to try and add something to the games.

lol, well, mine was working quite nicely at Husky on the saturday morning (until that bloody cheapo taiwanese microswitch decided to melt), and it did a very nice job of hosing the Yanks coming up through the woodland....

Thirdly, Operation Herbstnebel? Germans attacking? Could be a bit impractical......

Quite true. I do have the voices in my head though, telling me that I've spent a lot of money on it, so it needs to get used a bit! Just because I may not use it, doesn't mean I don't have willing volunteers to do so instead.

WADAYA MEAN COP OUT AND DRESS UP AN M249!!!!! Have you felt the weight of the A&K ones?

Not as heavy as the MG42 I'll admit but compared to most airsoft kit, they are heavy man!

Looking forward to this game now I've swapped sides again, Ill pile the German weaponry in the car - is it worth me bringing the crappy MG34 alikey if you have real stuff available?

AEG's, but then again, you can still make the Shoei blowbacks work in winter. Just need HPA, instead of CO2, and crank the regulator up :)

Hmmmm. Wonder if Hidakaya are still doing the 250% hammer springs for the K98's.....

I'll be getting one of these to run the Tanaka on Co2 in the colder months. Insert regulator into magazine, insert CO2 powerlet into regulator and hey presto!

You've never seen/heard any of Kermit's gas guns, have you?

I still remember the welts his Digicon left on Dan at 30m and I am SO glad I refused to be the test-target for it!

my mini uzi runs off a 32oz co2 bottle, chronoed in december 2006 at F+O @ 580 fps with .20 bb

ive never chronoed it in summer

only probem is my valve on the mag sticks a lot (freezeing i think)

i managed to get a full mag through it at the A2C game whilst driving then it seriously jammed and got dropped into the van door pannel for the rest of the game

co2 is great for gas guns :good:

Quote HS..........Thirdly, Operation Herbstnebel? Germans attacking? Could be a bit impractical......

This is just the US CO's propaganda trying to put you off taking em, take em all no matter what the terrain, weather, there's no excuse just because this is an offensive action, the K98s have it in warm weather both in range and psychologically, let the MG42s have it in the winter, forward to Victory Kameraden.

The propellant doesn't matter - the power does though...
